Frequently Asked Questions

Our goal is to never let a financial problem take you by surprise. At each appointment, you will either be given a treatment plan or an appointment will be made to come back and discuss your treatment if we are unable to give you a plan that day, for any reason. We want you to know what treatment and fees to expect and we want to work with you to make sure we have a strategy in place for anticipated payment. Below are some frequently asked questions we get. • "Do you take my insurance?"

  We are more than happy to help you file your insurance. We do this as a courtesy for you, as we are not contracted, or "in-network", with any insurance company. We believe that insurance companies create policies with their bottom line in mind, instead of a patient's concerns, and we never want our quality of care to be compromised by an insurance policy's limitations. We strive to give you the best care possible within the scope of your physical and financial needs. At each appointment, you will be reminded of an estimated out-of-pocket that was outlined on your treatment plan and payment of this amount will be due that day, unless other arrangements are made. This is our best guess, as your insurance company does not normally give us an exact amount but an estimate. Once payment from your insurance company is received, there may be a balance left on your account if the amount paid by the insurance is less than anticipated. You are responsible for any difference between the insurance payment and your balance. We will always work with you to make sure your account is accurate and current.

• "What forms of payment do you take?"

  We accept cash, personal check (for patients of record), Care Credit and all major credit cards. Any financial arrangements can be made in our office with our administrative staff. Limited arrangements are made on a case-by-case basis for established patients only and will need to be established before beginning treatment, except in emergency cases. Our administrative team can help answer any questions you might have about arrangements and insurance estimates.

• "Is dentistry expensive?"

  In truth, the neglect of taking care of your mouth is what makes dentistry seem so expensive. We always encourage our patients to stay on top of their preventative care, at-home care and dietary habits to keep their dental expenses down. If our patients remain dedicated to that, then dentistry is a reasonable routine cost for most. Of course, not all patients have those luxuries or have underlying medical conditions that can increase their risk of dental issues even if they have impeccable home care, diet and stay on top of their cleanings (i.e. dry mouth). The advancements in dentistry over the past several years has been immense and shows no signs of slowing down. Because of these advancements, the technology to treat dental problems at the cutting edge is an expensive investment.

• "Do you offer dental insurance?"

  We do not have a traditional dental insurance policy available for our patients at this time. However, we do have a preventative plan available for patients that don't have access to a traditional dental insurance policy. This helps our patients budget for their routine cleanings, exams, and x-rays. Everything that is important to be proactive with their dental care. It's easy to confuse this for dental insurance, but it is not. This takes care of preventative care only. • "Can I make payments?"

  Yes and no. Typically, we only offer financial arrangements for patients of record or over the course of treatment. We do take Care Credit to allow patients repayment flexibility that our office is simply not set up for. Our doctors also go through a great deal of effort to be sure our patients are as educated as possible on all of the options available to them, the pros and cons of those options, and any fees associated with them. This helps you to make the best decision for you and your pocketbook.
